3. Visibility
Profiles are visible only to authenticated users with valid Villanova email accounts.
You control what information you choose to include in your profile description.
If you choose to post an Activities request publicly, other users may see the activity, location label, description, and date/time information you shared, but your name is not shown unless a match is accepted or joined.
When a request is accepted or joined, participants in that accepted match may see contact details needed to coordinate, including name, email, and any optional Instagram or Snapchat information you choose to add in Settings.
If you share a direct link to a public activity request, that request page may be viewable by people who are not signed in. Shared-link pages are limited to request details needed to review and join the request.
Public activity requests may be filtered based on request audience settings, such as requests limited to men only or women only. We use stored profile gender only for this product functionality and related safety controls.
Profile gender is used only for audience filtering, request visibility, and safety-related controls within Activities.
Admins may review and remove outstanding public requests to enforce product rules, address abuse, or protect user safety.
4. Activities and Recommendations
When you use the Activities feature, we collect the information you submit and the actions you take within that feature. This may include the activities you select, your time and availability preferences, whether you post a request publicly or privately, request details you enter, and actions such as creating, pausing, resuming, deleting, accepting, joining, leaving, blocking, or canceling activity requests.
We use this information to operate the Activities feature, support matching, improve the relevance of activity suggestions, and build internal preference profiles that help us develop and provide personalized recommendations in the future. These profiles are generated from your activity history and interactions within the feature and are not shown publicly on the public board.
Blocking, reporting, and moderation actions may also be used to prevent future contact, hide requests or participants from view, review abuse complaints, and protect the safety of the service.
You may skip the recommendation questionnaire and continue using Activities. If you skip, we may use default preference values until you choose to submit or update your questionnaire answers.
In-app activity notifications are generated from product events such as joins, accepts, pauses, cancellations, and moderation actions.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account is active.
Activity history, interaction history, and related internal profile data may also be retained for product improvement, safety, debugging, fraud prevention, and feature performance analysis. Pausing or deleting a request may remove it from active use in the product, but may not immediately remove associated internal logs or derived profile data.
Expired, cancelled, or reposted activity requests may remain in our systems for safety, product operations, debugging, fraud prevention, and analytics even after they no longer appear as active requests in the product.
Public request metadata and moderation records may be retained for abuse prevention, dispute handling, and operational integrity.
If you delete your account:
Your profile is removed from public view immediately
Your data is permanently deleted from active systems within 30 days, and from backups within up to 90 days
6. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party service providers to host or secure the platform. These providers process data on our behalf and are obligated to protect it.
If you choose to add an accepted activity to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, you may be redirected to or interact with those third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect your information. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You may:
Access and update your profile information
Request deletion of your account
Use in-product controls to pause, delete, repost, block, or report within Activities
Skip or later update your activity recommendation questionnaire responses in product controls
Contact us with privacy-related questions
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to know, access, correct, delete, or limit certain processing of your personal information, and to appeal a denied request where required by law.
To exercise applicable rights, submit your request from your account email so we can verify identity and protect account security. We generally respond within 45 days and may extend where permitted by law with notice to you.
